Daimler has established a Sustainability Board at top management level, thus grouping together the company’s existing management functions in the three dimensions of sustainability: economy, ecology, and society. Under the lead of Dr. Rüdiger Grube, Board of Management member of Daimler AG responsible for Group Development and Corporate Strategy, the Sustainability Board coordinates all sustainability measures throughout the Group and provides implementation support for the operative sectors.
At the fifth Magdeburg environmental forum staged by Daimler and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the two host partners called for the establishment of an infrastructure for electric and fuel-cell vehicles. The call is linked to extending Daimler’s Memorandum of Understanding with UNEP, in existence since 2005, with the aim of reinforcing dialogue and the joint commitment for emission-free mobility among all parties.
Mercedes-Benz Buses and Coaches has received a major contract from SAPTCO (Saudi Arabian Public Transport) for 300 Mercedes-Benz Travego coaches. The first 150 coaches will be delivered before the end of this year. The other 150 will be delivered at the beginning of next year.

With the results of this year’s “APEAL” study, US consumers have once again confirmed the extremely high design and concept quality of the Stuttgart-based automotive brand.
